People with a cervix, ages 25-69, with a high-grade cervical cytology test who did not undergo colposcopy within six months of their high-grade abnormal screen date have increased over time in Waterloo Wellington region.
Waterloo Wellington Regional Cancer Program has partnered with WRHN @ Midtown, WRHN @ Queen’s Blvd SCOPE program, and Amplify Care to develop a central referral program. The goal is to expedite information transfer and shorten the wait time for high-grade cytology to Colposcopists in our region.
The patient will be called and provided with information by the Colposcopist office staff. Staff will share information about how to prepare for the procedure along with details about the date, time and location of the patient’s colposcopy. Email notification will be sent to the referrer and patient (if email is on file) with appointment details via eReferral. In case of fax referral, the Colposcopist office staff will fax the appointment confirmation to the nurse navigator, who will inform the referrer.
