The Canadian Cancer Society connects people who need transportation to cancer treatment(s) with a volunteer driver. You will need a referral from the healthcare team at the hospital/cancer clinic where you are having treatment.
Rides for people who have limited options for transportation to local or out of town medical appointments.
Grand River Transit (GRT) offers special bus and van services for people who cannot use regular transit because of a disability. A health professional must fill out a “Health/Disability Professional” form to help you qualify.
Book transit when you need it in Wellington County and Guelph. This is a ridesharing service, so bookings made at similar times, in similar locations, will ride together. Download the RIDE WELL app to book your ride ahead of time.
Supports seniors 65+ and adults with physical disabilities who live in their own home, or retirement home, to get to medical appointments.
Volunteer drivers support rides to medical appointments, grocery stores, and activities. Available for seniors (age 65+), and for people who are fully retired or on disability income. You must register in advance with Home Support Services.
The Cancer Information Helpline is a national, toll-free service for people with cancer, their caregivers, their families, and their friends. Information Specialists are available to chat over the phone, by email, and online.

The Canadian Cancer Society Travel Treatment Fund offers short-term financial assistance to offset some travel costs when traveling to cancer treatments. This includes expenses like fuel and taxi or public transit fares. It is available to people in Canada who are currently or will soon be undergoing cancer treatment.
If you already get support from ODSP, and spend over $15 a month on transportation, you may qualify for extra money to help cover the cost of travel. Travel must be to a medical appointment with an approved healthcare professional. Contact your ODSP worker to find out if you are eligible.
