LIVE OUTSIDE OF WATERLOO WELLINGTON?

Lodging could be provided during your treatment.

Patients receiving chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment, who live more than 90 kilometres from the WRHN Cancer Centre can benefit from local lodgings at no cost.

This benefit is funded by our generous donors through the Grand River Hospital Foundation.

Our Preferred Hotel

We have a plan with a hotel in Kitchener. The staff at the hotel welcome everyone and do all they can to meet the needs of our patients as their guests.

Based on a room for one or two people, included in your stay are:

  • Rooms for people with disabilities
  • Breakfast
  • Parking
  • Wi-Fi (internet access)
  • Mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker

Lodging is scheduled around treatment appointments from Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays)

About the Foundation

WRHN Foundation raises money to help Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) provide exceptional health care. The foundation is led by a volunteer Board of Governors and run by staff, who work with the hospitals leadership team to learn about patient needs and how their support can improve patients experience and care.

With the help of generous donors, supporters and community partners, the foundations raise millions of dollars for the hospital each year. This money is used to pay for medical equipment, programs and other initiatives that are not funded by the government or other sources. This includes paying for lodging for cancer patients who live outside the Waterloo Wellington areas.
