Lung Cancer Screening

The Ontario Lung Screening Program (OLSP) started across the province in 2021. The program helps find lung cancer early in people who are at high risk. Finding lung cancer early can lead to better treatment and a better chance of survival.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in Ontario. This is often because it is found too late, after the cancer has spread or grown too large to treat effectively.

Smoking Cessation

All patients who contact the OLSP site and currently smoke will be offered smoking cessation services. If patients are ineligible for the OLSP program or choose not to participate, they will be provided with information about Stop on the NET.

If patients are eligible for the OLSP, they will be automatically referred by OLSP staff to the WRHN Airways Clinic
