The Waterloo Wellington Regional Cancer Program (WWRCP) is a network made up of healthcare professionals and hospitals that provide cancer care across Waterloo Region, Wellington County and the southern portion of Grey County.
Our Regional Cancer Program is funded through Ontario Health – Cancer Care Ontario (OH-CCO). As a regional program, the WWRCP works to follow the goals and targets that OH-CCO sets out for the province. They come up with ways to respond to cancer issues in the region and make it easier to access care.
The WWRCP aims to give everyone the best care possible. This care spans across the cancer experience, such as:
The Waterloo Wellington Regional Cancer Plan details key goals for the WWRCP and how cancer services will be delivered in the region. It aligns with targets set in the Ontario Cancer Plan (OCP 6) and helps to build a cancer system that puts patients first.
A regional cancer plan for Waterloo Wellington is created every 4 years. It is based on patient needs as they go through each stage of the cancer continuum.
While creating these plans, the WWRCP listens to make sure everyone’s voice is heard. This Regional Cancer Plan (RCP) includes feedback from:
With this input, the RCP 2024-2028 will focus on:
Once the Regional Cancer Plan is released it helps to guide hospitals and healthcare providers in planning cancer services. The WWRCP always works to meet the demands of our region so that they can provide the best care possible.
Are you new to the cancer program? Your Guide to the Waterloo Wellington Regional Cancer Program has key information about our regional sites, services, contact information and supports.
Your healthcare team will give you a printed version or email you a copy of the Orientation Guide as a part of your 1st appointment. Refer back to your guide often, as the information inside can help you at different stages of care.
The Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) Cancer Centre partners with other hospitals in the Waterloo Wellington to offer safe cancer care closer to your home.
Your 1st treatment will be given at WRHN Regional Cancer Centre in Kitchener. After that, your treatments can be given at a hospital closer to where you live. Sharing your care with a partner site can mean less travel and stress. You will always get the same, reliable cancer care at all partner sites.
Patients and care partners tell us that bringing care closer to home has had a positive effect on their quality of life. With the support of Ontario Health-Cancer Care Ontario, the WWRCP has made it easier for patients to travel less and still access high-quality cancer care.
My Connected Care is a free and secure online tool that gives you easy access to your personal health information.
This online service is used across the following WWRCP sites:
Use My Connected Care (MCC) to view test results, clinical reports, and other health information using your computer or personal device (e.g. cell phone, tablet). You will see the average delay time noted below.

You will be able to view your health record, see messages from your care team, and see details of upcoming appointments.
Some clinics may send you forms to let you update your health record and answer questions related to appointments.
