Health Records

We’re partnering in your care as Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) and Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) begin sharing a health information system (Oracle).

This means patient information at all Waterloo Region hospitals will be entered into the same system. It will improve information sharing and create a more seamless patient journey.

This is part of WRHN’s commitment to building our network for better health. We’re working with regional partners to make healthcare better in Waterloo Region.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Does This Impact WRHN Patients?

If you have scheduled appointments at CMH and WRHN, you will them on the same schedule (patient itinerary). You may receive a printed copy of your itinerary from either hospital.

When you are coming for an appointment, make sure you go to the correct site! The location will be clearly marked on your itinerary.

If you have been a patient at CMH, your care team at WRHN may be able to see your healthcare information from previous visits to make informed decisions that support high-quality care.

Will I See CMH Information on My Connected Care (WRHN’s Patient Portal)?

If you use My Connected Care at WRHN, you may see some details from CMH visits on My Connected Care. Patients who have only visited CMH will not have the option to use My Connected Care at this time.

With Two Hospitals Using the Same System, How Is My Privacy Protected?

Your privacy is still our priority. Our health information system is secure and regularly audited. Team members at both organizations receive regular training on patient privacy standards. Care providers viewing your health information must be directly providing care to you.

With our shared system, privacy is maintained — and if you are a patient at both organizations, your care team can more seamlessly access your information, when appropriate, to give you healthcare that’s personalized, safe, and high-quality.

Does This Mean WRHN and CMH Are Merging?

While WRHN and CMH continue to work together and look forward to improving care for patients across the region, we remain two separate organizations.
