Doug Murray is the executive vice president of enabling services at Waterloo Regional Health Network, overseeing finance and support services; digital services; people, culture and experience; legal and risk services; and the KW Pension Plan. He advances strategic and innovative operational services and has been pivotal in the merger preparations of Grand River Hospital (GRH) and St. Mary's General Hospital (SMGH), guiding legal and governance, financial, and digital services work streams.
Doug co-led the Building the Future of Care (BFCT) project, developing the Master Plan submission. He joined the Kitchener-Waterloo hospital community in October 2018 as GRH’s vice president of corporate services and chief financial officer, later expanding his role to include executive leadership digital services in partnership with SMGH. His previous senior leadership roles include positions at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, William Osler Health System, and the Ontario Ministry of Health. Doug is a chartered professional accountant with a master of business administration MBA in health services management from McMaster University, a bachelor of arts in economics from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a bachelor of science from Queen’s University. He is also a graduate of the Oxford Strategic Innovation Programme.
