Gary Higgs

Gary has worked with the hospitals in Waterloo Region since 2008, when he became the first joint chief information officer for Grand River Hospital (GRH) and St Mary’s General Hospital (SMGH). Since then, he has co-led large change initiatives, including the implementation of a new enterprise hospital information and early stages of new hospital building infrastructure. Gary's focus on collaboration and partnerships helped contribute to the successful merger of GRH and SMGH into WRHN. Gary holds an honours bachelor of mathematics in business and information systems and a master of management science, both from the University of Waterloo.
