Regional Indigenous Cancer Navigator

Melanie is an Indigenous patient navigator for the Waterloo Wellington Regional Cancer Program (WWRCP).

She helps Indigenous patients get safe, respectful cancer care by speaking up for patients’ needs, helping plan traditional ceremonies, and supporting healing for mind, body, spirit, and community. Her work helps teams learn about Indigenous ways of knowing and healing. Melanie supports cancer care at WRHN and our partner hospitals. She is also part of the Indigenous Health and Reconciliation Team (IHRT).
