The Redevelopment Multi-Year Facilities Master Plan identifies the proposed expansion @ Chicopee as the next priority following @ The University. As requested by the Ministry of Health, WRHN is working towards a resubmission of planning (known as Stage 1.2 Part A and B) for both existing sites given the phasing requirements of @ The University site.
At the same time, planning for the Bridging Program @ Midtown is progressing, with key decisions—such as scope, decanting, and construction phasing—informed by ongoing phasing work for @ The University project. Stage 1.2 Part B work kicked off in April 2026, with consultants WalterFedy and Parkin in addition, preliminary blocking and stacking work for the Chicopee site is underway. It is anticipated that Functional Programming for the existing sites will begin in 2027, also dependent on the new hospital project.
