The Patient and Family Partnership Council brings together patients, families, caregivers, community members, and healthcare leaders to help shape the future of care.

As redevelopment projects moves forward, the council provides an important community perspective—helping ensure that the experiences, needs, and priorities of patients and families are considered in planning for the future.

About the Council

The Redevelopment Patient and Family Partnership Council is a forum for meaningful collaboration between community members and the Redevelopment Program.

As members of the Council, partners share their experiences, perspectives, ideas, and feedback to help inform decisions related to redevelopment work at WRHN. Their insights help keep the focus on what matters most to the people who use and support our healthcare services.

Why patient and family voices matter

The Redevelopment Program is about more than buildings and spaces. It is an opportunity to think differently about how people experience care.

Patient and family partners can help bring important perspectives to questions such as:

  • What makes a healthcare experience welcoming and accessible?
  • How can spaces better support patients, families, and caregivers?
  • What matters most when navigating care?
  • How can the future environment support comfort, dignity, privacy, and connection?
  • What opportunities are there to improve the overall patient and family experience?

A community partnership

The council is one part of a broader commitment to community engagement throughout the redevelopment process.

By bringing community perspectives into conversations early and throughout the projects, we can help create a future healthcare environment that reflects the people and communities it serves.
