The Emergency Departments are experiencing high volumes of patients who need care. Please be prepared to wait. The most serious cases are treated first.
Not all health concerns need emergency care. You can also book a virtual visit or go to an urgent care clinic for these concerns. For life-threatening symptoms, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.

This is a volunteer organization run through Sunnybrook Hospital. They support people in Ontario who have lost a pregnancy, a baby, or are struggling with infertility. PAIL has peer support groups. They provide a safe space to share stories.
We have a social work team who can support you while you are staying in hospital. Social workers can provide counselling. They can help you access community resources. Please speak to one of our nurses to arrange a visit with a social worker.
Our spiritual care team supports people in times of grief. Spiritual care providers work with all people. They work with all faith communities. You also don’t have to be religious for spiritual care. At your request, we can also help you contact spiritual resources and faith communities outside the hospital. Talk to your nurse to arrange a visit with a spiritual care providers.
