We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Jodi Rosner, a cornerstone of our pediatric team at Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) for 24 years, has been named the PSOMA Autumn 2025 Pediatrician of the Season.
Nominated by our Chief of Pediatrics, Dr. Carolyn Hutzal, this award recognizes Dr. Rosner’s dual legacy as a compassionate clinician and a relentless advocate for our region’s youngest patients.
Transforming Pediatric Cancer Care at WRHN
Dr. Rosner’s impact is felt every day in our local POGO (Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario) satellite clinic. Through her leadership of the Kitchener Kids with Cancer Run & Walk, she has raised over $732,000 to date. These funds directly enhance the care we provide here at home, supporting:
-
Psychosocial Support: A dedicated social worker for families navigating a diagnosis.
-
Therapeutic Care: Full-time Child Life specialists and music therapists to ease the burden of chemotherapy.
-
Patient Comfort: Practical additions like our clinic’s slushie machine to soothe painful mucositis.
A Lifelong Commitment to Waterloo Region
Whether she is attending in our Level 2 NICU, leading our Juvenile Diabetes and Eating Disorders clinics, or providing palliative home visits, Dr. Rosner’s work is defined by the deep, longitudinal relationships she builds with families.
“This location allowed me to continue my work with oncology patients while staying close to our family support network,” Jodi shared, reflecting on her decision to practice in the community where she grew up.
Join us in congratulating Dr. Rosner on this well-deserved provincial honor!
