Vice President, Medical and Academic Affairs

Dr. Heather Warren joins Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) as vice president, medical and academic affairs. Passionate about patient-centred, high-quality care and provider well-being, she has more than 12 years of progressive medical leadership.
Dr. Warren joined the senior leadership team in 2023 as vice president, medical programs and quality at St. Mary’s General Hospital, where she held numerous leadership roles after she joined the Department of Cardiovascular Services in 2012. She continues to practice as a clinical cardiologist and is an associate clinical professor (adjunct) at Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, Waterloo Regional Campus. Dr. Warren completed her doctor of medicine and internal medicine residency at Memorial University. She then went on to complete a fellowship in adult cardiology at the University of Western Ontario, followed by a fellowship in adult echocardiography at the University of Toronto. Dr. Warren also received a graduate diploma in clinical epidemiology from Memorial University and a certificate in healthcare management from Yale School of Management. In 2024, she completed the Advanced Health Leadership Program from the Rotman School of Management.
