If you are planning to have a baby, or supporting someone who is, our Childbirth Team is here for you. Each year, about 4,650 babies are born at the Marjorie Carroll Childbirth Centre at WRHN.

The Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic helps people whose pregnancy may be at risk. Your doctor or healthcare provider will refer you to the clinic if needed. We will contact you with the date and time of your appointment.
Before your visit, you may have tests such as blood work or an ultrasound to learn if your pregnancy is at risk. At your appointment, you will see a reproductive health doctor, called a gynecologist. They will review your results and talk with you about the next steps.
If your pregnancy is ending, we may treat you with medicine or a minor surgery, called a dilation and curettage (D&C). After a D&C, you must have someone drive you home and stay with you for the first 24 hours. You may spend eight to 12 hours at the hospital for this care.

The Procedural Abortion Clinic offers safe, confidential care if you need an abortion to end a pregnancy. You can call the clinic directly to make an appointment. You do not need a referral or to visit another health service first.

These procedures check for and treat abnormal cells on the cervix. They help prevent cervical cancer and treat changes early.
Urodynamic tests support people who are experiencing incontinence. These tests check how bladder and urethra are working. It helps your doctor plan the right treatment.
Conscious sedation uses medicine to help you feel calm and comfortable during a procedure while you are still awake. It makes recovery easier and helps you go home sooner.
If you or someone you care about has experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, or human trafficking, our team can support you. As the region’s Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Care Team, we provide safe care with compassion.
The Waterloo Wellington Breast Centre provides breast imaging close to home. Services include mammograms, breast ultrasound, image-guided procedures, and more.
